Hiraeth is a Welsh term for a feeling of homesickness for a home you cannot return to or one that never existed. Hiraeth is deep feeling that I turned into a story through poetry that revolves around a certain sense of something missing but not knowing that it has anything to do with the word home. Since 'home' is a feeling more than just a physical location/place as it is usually differentiated from the word house, this poetry book takes a unique approach at portraying home as a feeling rather than a location even if it is just the feeling of nostalgia. It also is an afterword of a novel that I will soon be publishing. This collection is of the Epic genre, so the poems are quite lengthy and they are for everyone and anyone. I hope the readers relate to what’s been written. This is also not anything close to instapoetry/pop-poetry.

ReplyDeleteAs a book, Hiraeth deals with darkness in general and in specific. Darkness is an important topic to be talked about and expressed because it does exists and the sooner we learn to accept, the sooner we can control it.
Putting the book in the form of poetry, I ended up talking more about darkness and pain which from my point of view is reality. It’s important to remember that we are all scarred, wounded and dark in some way. Hiraeth puts in an effort to make you feel like your not alone.
